Hiranand Mukim, son of Sahu Kanhad and Smt. Bhaminibahu of Agra, was, a very rich and religious minded person. He lived in Prayag (Allahabad). He was personal jeweller of prince Salim who had his special favour on him. In 1604 Seth Hiranand had organised a Sangh from Agra to Sammed Shikharji.
He joined the Sangh from Prayag which through his efforts had the patronage of prince Salim. Kharag Sain, father of Pt. Banarsi Das, had also joined the Sangh from Jaunpur. Seth Hiranand had provided a big escort for the Sangh including several elephants and horses.
The Sangh completed the pilgrimage in one year and all expenditure on the food arrangements etc. was borne by the Seth. The Jains of Jaunpur heartily welcomed him where he was their guest for four days. After the death of Akbar while prince Salim became Emperor Jahangir, Seth Hiranand settled at Agra as his personal jeweller.
After coronation of Jahangir in 1610 he invited him to his residence. In the following years Seth Hiranand and his son Sahu Nihal Chand performed several important religious deeds. Seth Hiranand was also a poet and composed Adhyatma Bawni.
