Achievements in the life of Shri Attar Sain Jain, an industrialist of Delhi, were mainly due to good habits inculcated in him by his religious minded father Shri Baldeo Das Jain, who had set up coal business in Delhi in 1941. Earnings there from formed the base for industrial enterprises by this family. Foundation stone of the first factory, Hindustan Cycle Accessories Mfg. Co., was laid by him in 1954.
Shri Jain was born at Barsat in Distt. Karnal (Haryana). Married to Smt. Shakuntala Devi Jain on July 13, 1937 he had 6 sons and 2 daughters. Shri Jain was appointed as Terminal Tax Inspector at Bhiwani in 1934 and promoted as Superintendent and Verifying Officer in August 1941. He came to Delhi in August 1944 as Enforcement Inspector in Delhi Administration.
He resigned from service on 11th June, 1949 to establish a glass factory. After closure of this unit in Jan., 1950, he worked as Sales Organizer in Vikram Cotton Mills, Lucknow. He resigned from there in 1952. Much pleased with his work, the mill owner had gifted him the Ganeshganj Ratail Shop which he had handed over to one of his near relatives in March, 1954.
There after Shri Jain became a partner with his father and younger brother in establishing the cycle accessories manufacturing factory. Hard labour and fortune had amply rewarded Shri A.S. Jain. He was associated with Hindustan Cycle Accessories Mfg. Co., Jai Bharat Hardware Co., Laxmi Steel Wires, M/s Steel and Metal, and M/s A.S. Jain & Sons.
