Aged learned Jainologist. Pt. Jindas has rendered his long and devoted services for the creation of Jain literature. He was born at Sholapur in 1894 in a religious and pious family. His father Shri Paraswanath Gopal Shastri, a good teacher of religion, the noted Vyakarnacharya late Pt. Vanshidhar Shastri and Nyayacharya Pt. Manik Chandra gave him intensive education in Sanskrit, grammar, Nyaya, Tattwa-Jnan and Jain philosophy.
Pt. Jindas worked as teacher of religion for 20 years in Pannalal Jain Pathshala where he had received his early education. On its becoming High School he was a teacher of Sanskrit there for 4 years. For 12 years he worked in Jain Sanskriti Sanrakshak Sangh and translated several religious scriptures.
He has translated 9 Poranic scriptures, 11 scriptures on Stotras etc, besides translating 15 important Jain scriptures in Marathi and 4 in Hindi. Some of his works are yet unpublished. His pious living and habit of deep and thorough study need no commendation.
