Shri Attar Chand Jain

Always cheerful and smiling Shri Attar Chand Jain son of late Shri Joti Pershad Jain was born at Delhi on February 25, 1915. He did his B.Sc. from Hindu College, Delhi in 1936 and M. A. (Economics) from Camp College, Delhi of Punjab University in 1952. He joined service on January 28, 1937 in Delhi Admn.

He was appointed in Education, Health and Lands Department on August 17, 1937, promoted as Superintendent in 1947 and as Under Secretary in 1955 in the Union Ministry of Agriculture. After retirement from service on April 19, 1970 he joined as Director in M/s. Jyoti Impex (P) Ltd. which deals in import and export business of various items.

A devoted social worker Shri Jain has held important senior positions in several institutions. He was Secretary of Central Sectt. Cooperative Store during 1951-71, Secretary of Deptt. of Agriculture Canteen during 1968- 70 and General Secretary of Deptt. of Agriculture Recreation Club for several years.

He is President of Shri 108 Nemi Sagar Aushdhalaya Kucha Seth since 1968. He was Secretary of Jain Sabha, Daryaganj during 1967-70 and of Jain Youngmen’s Association during 1970-71. He is Finance Secretary of Jain Society for Protection of Orphans, Daryaganj since 1966.  He is member of Chelmsford Club. Married to Smt. Prakashwati Jain in 1933 he has one son and three daughters.
