Sanganer town situated about 10 km from the Jaipur City on Kota – Jaipur Road. It is one of the historical places of Rajasthan. This is an old temple and represents the ancient style of architecture completed in many phases.
The last phase of this temple was completed in 10th century A.D. according to inscription of V.S. 1011 in one of the pylons (Toranas). In this temple the Principal Deity the Lord Adinath (Rishabh Dev), the first tirthankar is supposed to be 4000 years old.
With skyhigh eight Shikharas (Pinnacles) this temple is seven storied. In the midst of of underground portion, there is located an ancient small temple guarded by the Yaksha (Devas) it is said that only a Balyati (one celibate since childhood) ascetic digamber saint can enter if equipped with his spiritual steady fastness and he is only able to bring out the Idols of this underground temple for a limited period, which is declared and decided previously.
The idols thus brought out for viewing (Darshan) of devotees, must be placed back with in auspicious signs. This is an Atishay (Miracle) of this temple, shows its antiquity.
The principal idols of Lord Adinaath is supposed to be 4000 Years old, made of stone. The whole of the temple is made of red stone with attractive images carved. The sight of the architecture of main gate reminds the architecture of famous Delwara Temples of Mount Abu.
As one enters the inner temple there is a big stone built shrine having three pinnacles. In the middle of the shrine a very beautiful, eye catching idol of Lord Parshwanath with seven serpent hoods is installed. There are 2 idols of Lord parshwanath in the both side too. There so many attractive idols installed in the temple on all four sides.
