Sanghi Jhuntharam was an intelligent, powerful and influential Jain Diwan of Jaipur State during 1824-1834. An expert and strong administrator of firm determination he gave severe punishment to the culprits, as a result of which much less crimes were committed in the State during his time. A patriot, he was freedom minded. During those days while the English were trying to take over princely States by their cunning diplomacy and were interfering in their administrative affairs, he protected the interests of Jaipur State intelligently. He did not like that the English should take over the State. He intensified administrative arrangements for security of the unprotected borders and strongly administered Shekhawati region which had been going out of control. He took keen interest in propagation of Jain religion and culture. Honest, loyal and able administrator Sanghi Jhuntharam could not be an exception to the conspiracies of the selfish people who had become envious of his increasing power and influence. The conspiracies against him had succeeded and he was imprisoned on false allegations.
