The soul is the architect of one’s happiness and sorrow. The soul on the right path is one’s own friend and a soul on the wrong path is one’s enemy.
The pure soul is free from the activities of mind, body and speech. It is conflictless, detached, formless, substratumless, dispassionate, blemishless, free from delusion and fear.
External soul is that which is led by the senses. Internal soul is that which knows itself to be different from the body and supreme soul is that which has annihilated the Karmas and attained liberation.
The soul itself if the river Vaitaranii ( a river in heaven) and the thorny tree of Salmali. The soul is also Kamadhenu (wish-fulfiling cow) and the divine garden Nandana.
My soul, endowed with knowledge and vision, is alone eternally mine, all others are alien to me and are in the nature of external adjuncts.
The self alone should be restrained because it is most difficlut to restrain the self. One who conquers his self becomes happy in this world and will be so in the next.
Fight with your own self. What is the use of fighting with external foes ? One who conquers one’s own self enjoys happiness.
O Man ! you are your own firend, why do you seek the company of other friends ? Control and conquer your own self. By doing so, you will be liberated from all miseries and sorrows.
One who is free of deceit attains purity and becomes steadfast in Dharma. Such a person attains the highest emancipation like the lustre of fire sprinkled with ghee.
