Mahavirji.

 The focus of worship and adoration at Maha- virji (connected with Sonagiri by direct bus) is a seated Mahavira of reddish coloured stone (right) that lay buried for an unknown period of time. Only after it was dug up early in the 20th century was the present main temple (below) built at the expense of an industrial donor.

Panels, carved in white marble and fixed to the outer wall of the second storey, relate episodes from the lives of Mahavira and Parshvanatha. Mahavirji, located close to Jaipur, Delhi and Agra, is annually visited by more than a lakh (hundred thousand) of pilgrims. The nearest (9 km) railway station bears the name of Mahavirji.
