Historical Importance: More than 1000 year ago, in the year of 981 A.D., The great Chamundarayaji established a mind blowing inimitable astonishing 18 km. (58 feet) tall idol of Lord Bahubaliji on the mountain Vindhyagiri. He was motivated by Aacharyashri Nemichandra Siddhant Chakrwarti to do so. The great world famous idol is facing towards north direction and is in standing posture. After every 12 years anointment is observed here i.e. Mahamastakabhishekha.

It is the main jain pilgrimage place and tourist place in South India as well Chandragiri also witnesses many Temples and invaluable inscriptions which focus light on history of Jainism. The beautiful idol can be seen ever from the distance of 15 to 16 km.

The place has about 500 glorious scriptures. It is place where Bhattarakshri Charukirtiji reside in Matha.
