Dr. Panna Lai Jain, born at Parguwan in Distt. Sagar (M-P.) on March 5, 1911, is a noted Jain scholar. He is Principal of Shri Ganesh Dig. Jain Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Sagar. He is associated with this college as
teacher since 1st July, 1931.
He passed Kavyatirtha from Bengal Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad, Calcutta in 1930 in First Division, Sahityacharya from Banaras Sanskrit University in 1936 and obtained Ph.D. from Sagar University in 1974. In 1969-70, he was honoured by the President on Teachers’ Day. For the last 25 years he is Secretary of All India Dig. Jain Vidwat Parishad. With his per- severence, regular writing habit and labour Dr. Panna Lai has enriched the Jain literature considerably, even on some difficult subjects.
