A brilliant scholar. Dr. Jain was born at Baragaon, Distt. Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. He did his M.A. (Pali) from Banaras Hindu University in 1956 (llnd Class First) and M.A. (Prakrit& Jainology) from Bihar University in 1958 securing 1st division and first position. He is a Gold Medalist.
He was a Lecturer at Vaishali Research Institute, Muzaffarpur from August, 1960 to October, 1964 and joind Jabalpur University as Lecturer in October, 1964 where since May, 1968 he is a Reader.
As a Secretary of World Fellowship of Religions, he worked untiringly for the Fifth World Religions Conference held at Delhi during November, 1974. He is Deputy Secretary and Member of International Committee of the International Association for the History of Religion and has visited Israel, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Germany, Holland and Denmark in connection with attending International Religions Conferences and Congresses.
Arousing social and religious consciousness among all men and women is the hobby of enthusiastic young Dr. Jain. His Jambu Swami Chariu has been published from Bharatiya Jnanpith in 1968. Several of his research papers have been published and he has several research publication schemes in hand.
