Jaina religion is the oldest religion of India.The followers of this religion are calledJains.The fun¬damental principle of Jaina religilon is non-violence (Ahimsa). Therefore Ahimsa affect our life style and the way of thinking. Ahimsa belongs to body mind and soul of the mankind. Many books have been written on Jaina life style. We must follow them because development of this century affected our life style.
VRAT (commandment) related to our practical life religion and medicine were good guides of ancient Indian Society. The people of this country lead their lives as per rules mentioned in religious as well as medical books. Entire human society follows that conduct, prescribed in these books on Ayurveda. Now a days intemperance is spreading rapidly in the society.
Control of it is a serious prob¬lem. Man and entire society severly caught by many ill habits. Temperance is decreasing in present society compared to ancient human society. Because man’s life conduct is not controlled by temperance. Man as well as society becomes awake due to increasement of in temperance. Man became helpless due to intemperance. This is a global problem.
Moral force is very essential to control intemprance in the modern society. It is a base of Jaina life style. To observe (Non-Violence) we must give up non-vegetarien diet, alcohal, honey etc. By this we will become strong mentally, and we will able to keep deep faith in non-violence. This is the thing which may guide the whole world. Contribution of Ayurveda towards society is essential.
Ahimsa and its application in lifelare mentioned in ancient Ayurveda,but Jaina Ayurveda keeps away from meat diet, Alcohal and honey as a food and medicine. That is quiet just as per Jainism. Kalayankaraka, a treatise on Jaina Ayurveda describes these things and this is essential principle of Jainism. Parmartha swasthya as well as vayavhara swasthya both are needful to man. If we observe good conduct and protect out health.
We will acheive Dharma, Ariha, kama & Moksa and as per vayavhar swasthya balance of Agni, dosha Dhatu along with hap¬piness of Atma, Indriyas and mind is necessary for a sravaka. Every individual needs balanced diet in order to obtain good health. Good food gives us vitality, Every sravaka must take diet suitable to the seasons. Jaina sravaka observes VRAT and fast accordingly in different seasons.
We observe religious ceremonies in different seasons keeping in view vayavahar swasthya. Thus we are fulfilling our goals. Bala(sres) is essential for the happiness of life therefore we must maintain our vitality by following the preachings of Ayurveda. Every human being gets bala due to ksayapasama of viryantraya Karma, By Bala, he is able to bear different types and will become happy.
So for darefulness is essential, Jaina Acaryas have been written all these things in Ayurvedic books. Jaina community residing throughout this country as well as abroad. They lived in Jangaladesha Anupdcshaor Sad- harma desha due to this reason life style may be different. As for exampe – Marudesa, Malwa, Vanga, Magadha, Kalinga, Koshal desha have different life style. It is possible due to diet and life style.
There is great need to stydy of this aspect. Our body is Asauci means confaminated by different things. So we must concentrate our mind towards religious preachings, but Vayawhar Swasthya is essential to this world in which we live. Our body is made up of panchmahabhuta and dosa in which soul lives.
We must practice different lift style in different ways in different seasons like varsa, sarada, Hemanta, Sisira, Vasanta, and Grisma ritu in order to keep our body fit and healthy. This type of conduct has been mentioned in Jaina or Shravkacara due to lack of practice of this good conduct many diseases occuring in jaina community of the present day. Good conduct is a systematic manner of our life. If we keep those commandments of life in practice, then disease will be very far from us.
Every day is divided into seasons, morning as Vasant ritu, mid day as Grisma ritu and after-noon as Varsa ritu. It means that whole day having different temperature and atmosphere in climate. Therefore we must follow our life style according to the divisions Of the day as mentioned above, because this cycle of time affects our body dosas sancaya and prakopa taking place. Thus our body is physiologically related to the every days cycle.
We must take our Ahara, Vihara and medicine according to the kalacakra. Everbody must use food etc.

Hral diet must contain green leafy vegetables, milk,ghee etc. so that our body will get sufficient quantity of nutrition, as grain, minerals, protein, S ugar etc. Milk, curd, Takara, Ghee, Oilctc. are es¬sential articles in Indian circumstances. Every Jaina Shravaka will get up early in the morning in Brahmya muhurt. Every day Starts with dialling.
Brush is necessary for our dental protection so we can use brush (Dant-dhawan) of a fresh tree of Neon, Babul and Karanja. Do massage suitablly according to the season. Exercise is also neces¬sary for our life. Exercise increases our Agni which is essential for our health and sound sleep produces “it reducers obesity and build our body strong. Do exercise as half of your phugrical power.
Bath is essential for purification of our body, Do udavarta before taking daily bath, use soap of standard quality without faLFeaee and longivity increases by taking daily bath wear shoes except leather to protect our feet. Observe Brahmaearya vrat (commaament) during religious days. By observing Brahmacarya we will get physical, mental and spiritual happiness.
It is a essential element in our social and religious life vama (lusliwe of body) bala, sattwa, Decrgha Ayu, and eye light will increase, Temperant people will not get diseases. Sleep is aneed of our body and mind. Sufficient sleep will help is to free us from disease. In special circumstance you take sleep in day time. These are the rules of personal hygiene as per jaina Ayurveda and already mentions in Kayankarka written by Acarya Ugraditya.
It is an abstract of Ayurveda, Ayarved in general and jaina Ayurveda special gives instruction to whole society that we must get rid of sinful activites, Hinsa (violence etc.). We must love one another society .If we follow these discourses of jaina Ayurveda in life we will get physical, mental and spiritual Health, which we call it vyavhara as well as paramarth swasthya.
In conclusion I may add that jaina community must give attention towards their technical sciences specialty Health Sciences, because it is a science of life that is a useful branch of knowledge pertaining to the welfare of society as well as nation. We must preach it and practice it to the entire world. To day pure water, pure air and pure food is a problem before society and the nation. We can contribute towards national health problem as the national level.
