Khaniadhana was once an independent state in India. At that time taking out of procession by dragging the idol in a rath and pulled by elephants was not allowed in Gwalior. It was the Khaniadhana ruler who allowed this procession to be taken out in his state of Khaniadhana. A nandishwar temple have been constructed at this place.
