History – Nandani is an ancient Jain Heritage Centre with over 1,200 years of History. There is a Jain Math/Mutt with a Bhattarakha seat. The Bhattarakha at Nandani is called as Sri Jinasena Bhattarakha Swamiji. This seat belongs to the Sena Gana, Pushakara Order. Acharya Shantisagar belonged to this tradition.
The Chaturtha subsect of Digambar Jains looks upto the Bhattarakha of this Mutt for religious guidance. The Math’s structure is very ancient and stands on 300 pillars most of which are made of wood.
Jain Temples – There are 4 Digambar Jain temples within the Nandani Village three temples are beside the Jain Mutt and two of them are dedicated to Tirthankar Adinath. One of them is ancient and another one is new Ancient Adinath Digambar Jain Temple – This temple belongs to around 10th century A.D. It has a green coloured stone idols of Tirthankar Adinath in Kayotsarga as the main deity.
We can find marble idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath in Padmasana, panchadathu idols of Tirthankar Parshwanath, Lord Bahubali and other Tirthankaras is Kayotsarga and padmasana posture are seen in this Garbagriha. Also are seen the panchadathu idols of Yakshi Chakreshwari, Jwalamalini and Padmavati. The temple has a wide navaranga with an ancient inscription.
The Shikhra/Pinnacle of the temple has the marble idol of Tirthankar Adinath in padmasana. A wide platform and a lofty Manastambha is seen in front of the temple.
Adinath Digambar Jain Temple – This temple was built in the year 1894 A.D. it has a black coloured idol of Tirthanar Adinath as the main deity. It has a black coloured idol of Tirthankar Adinath in Padmasana as the main diety.
Padmavati Temple – This is a small temple located beside both the Adinath temples. This temple has the idol of Yakshi Padmavati as the main deity.
Parshwanath Temple – This temple is located within the village. This has a black coloured idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath in padmasana as the main deity.
Rishabanchal-About 2 Kms away from the Jain Math is an area called Richabanchal. We can find a 31 feet high idol of the 1st Tirthankar Adinath in the open air. Just in front of this idols is installed a Manastambha
Choubis Tirthnkar Temple – This temple is located beside the Adinath idol. This temple has black coloured idols of 24 Tirthankars in Kayotsarga. Also is seen a black coloured idol of Tirthankar Parshwanath in Padmasana and a small stone idol of Lord Bahubali
Charanas of 24 Tirthankaras – Just beside the Adinath idol and Choubis Tirthankar Temple are installed the charanas of 24 Tirthankaras inside separate mantapas.
