Jainism was at its highest peak during the 9th to 12th century in the central India specially. Scores and scores of highly artistic and gigantic temples were constructed during this period. Another notable point is that in several temples ancient idols of Tirthankars were installed which belonged to the fourth era (chaturth kaal).
But with the passage of time, these temples slowly lost their glory and majority of them were destroyed in the invasions by the foreigners. The idols were hidden by embedding them under the ground or in ponds and wells. Centuries later these idols immerged again with some heavenly influences thus attracting the people all over.
At the temple in Pawai Ratangiri an idol of Lord Neminath belonging to the fourth era was discovered from under the ground. The idol is said to be full of miracles and is believed to change its colour three times in a day. People from all parts come here to pray and it is also said that if the prayer is done with pure heart, it is always fulfilled.
No picture of the temple or idol is available on the net.
