Born at village Sorai in Distt. Jhansi (U.P.). Pt. Banshidhar got his intensive education in Sanskrit at Banaras where he had gone from Sagar in 1920. For about 11 years he studied grammar, religion, Nyaya and literature at Syadwad Mahavidyalaya and passed Vyakarna- charya, Dharma Shastri, Nyayatirtha, Nyaya Shashtri and Sahitya Shastri examinations.
He was imprisoned for 10 months for participating in national movement in 1942.
During his Secretaryship of Sanmarg Pracharni Samiti he strongly advocated the well known Dassa-Puja Adhikar case of Bamora. For several years he has been the Secretary of Shri Ganesh Prasad Varni Jain Granthmala Varanasi and Digamber Jain Vidwat Parishad. Of the later institution he has also been President for 4 years. For few years he was Co-Editor of ‘Shanti Sindhu’ and Editor of ‘Sanatan Jain’ published from Natepote and Bulandshahar respectively. He is author of ‘Jain Tattwa Ki Mimamsa Ki Mimamsa’ and ‘Jain Darshan Me Karyakaran-bhava Aur Karak Vyavastha’ His third book is nearing completion.
Vir Nirwan Bharati has honoured him with the title of ‘Sidhantacharya’ and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2500/- in 1974 for his literary services.
He has settled at Vina in Madhya Pradesh.
