Widely honoured among the Jains of the country Pt. Kailash Chandra Jain has devoted his life to learning, editing, writing and propa- gatian of Jain religion and concepts. He is one of the few outstanding learned scholars whose name in the entire Jain community is taken with much respect. Simple living, simple nature and sweet temperament are the other outstanding virtues of Panditji.
Son of late Shri Musaddi Lai Jain, he was born at Nihtaur, Distt. Bijnor (U.P.) in 1903.
Having received early education at his native place Nihtaur he took admission in Syadwad Mahavidayalaya, Varanasi in 1915, passed Shastri examination from Maneck Chand Dig. Jain Parikshalaya, Bombay in 1923 and Nyayatirtha in 1st division from Bengal Sanskrit Association in 1931.
He was Principal of Syadwad Maha- vidyalaya since 4th Dec., 1927 and has retired from there in 1972. He much developed this institution with devotion. More than 600 students taught by him are working in responsible positions throughout the country.
He is Secretary of Literary Deptt. of Jain Sangh Chaurasi (Mathura), Shri Varni Shodh Sansthan Samiti and member of Advisory Committee of Bharatiya Jnanpith.
His book Jain Dharma received country wide appreciation and was suitably prized. Literary Works :
