Sabal Singh Mothia son of Nemi Das Sahu was a very rich and influential Jain businessman at Agra during the rule of Jahangir. Pt. Banarsi Das has mentioned his name several times in his Ardhakathanak. The eye-witnessed description which Pt. Banarsi Das gave of the riches and majestic living of Shri Mothia gives an easy conclusion that the Jains were greatly prosperous in the capitals of the Mughal rulers. Sabal Singh was leader of the 88 leading Jains of Agra who had sent an invitation to Tapagachacharya Vijaysen in 1610.
