This temple is located in a small village called Saravana which is 28 km from Tonk in the state of Rajasthan. The temple was constructed by a ‘Shah’ in 1575. He chose to not put his name, and just added his family name. Further Charukirti Bhattarak construted 4 temples which are know as Sarwana, Lava, Harsoli and Bahndra-Sindari.
Fearing Mughal dominance and their attitude of destroying Temples, it was decided to move the Mulnayak Idol of Bhagwan Shantinath to a safer place. The idol could not be moved when it was tried to be taken away from the temple to a place of safely. When force was applied, it split into two from the shoulder to Stomach diagonally like a ‘Janeu’ is worn. Everyone was surprised and fearful by this. Further, a divine sound said that the idol should be covered with wheat flour and hot water and tied together. The idol rejoined firmly and a line of joint is still seen on Idol.
