Shri Abhay Kumar Jain

Shri Abhay Kumar Jain son of late Shri Daulat Ram Jain was born in village Garhi Harsaru, Distt. Gurgaon (Haryana) on December 10, 1914. An intelligent student he secured 6th position in matriculation examination of Delhi Board in 1930 and got three scholarships. After passing Intermediate examination in science in 1933 from Ramjas College he joined service in Jaipuria Spinning and Weaving Mills, Delhi in 1936. Later in 1938 he was appointed Travelling Salesman in Kishangarh Spinning Mills, Ajmer and Johns Mill, Agra and travelled almost all over the country. He joined Indore Malwa United Mills, Indore as Salesman in 1939. He was appointed in Union Commerce Ministry in 1941-42 but resigned from service in 1942 during the non-cooperation movement. He set up independent cloth and property business in 1942 and associated with his father in colonisation of Gandhi Nagar Colony. A film distributor during 1957-60 he now has various agencies of asbestos cement sheets etc.
Married to Smt. Gyan Mala Jain in July 1934 he has three sons and three daughters.

Fond of Urdu poetry Shri Jain is Joint- Secretary of Anjuman-Uruze-Adab. A Member of Lions Club he is associated with several other religious and cultural institutions.
