A leading Civil Advocate of Bijnor, late B. Ajit Pershad Jain was entirely a self made man.
After passing LL.B. from Canning College, Lucknow, he started his legal practice at Bijnor in 1920. He was a very hard working and intelligent advocate and had much respect in the district and Bar for his honesty in the profession. In a long legal career of 40 years he made a good fortune and earned great respect in the profession.
He was Standing Counsel of the local Sugar Mills and conducted many important cases. He was intimate with many renowned legal masters of Uttar Pradesh and State and Central Ministers. An influential advocate, he was sincerely dedicated to the duties required of his honoured profession. He did much labour in conducting the cases.
His only son Shri Jagdish Pershad Jain, born at Nihtaur, is simple hearted, soft spoken, of helping nature and straight forward in dealings. A prosperous businessman he is associated with sugar manufacture and other trades. He has truely inherited honesty not only in his matters of life but also in business. He was married in a respectable family to Smt. Saroj Bala Jain, daughter of Sh. Shree Chandra Jain and Smt. Ratan Mala Jain of Nihtaur, district Bijnor in U. P. on 7th March, 1943. A virtuous lady she is extremely simple hearted and plain speaking. She is gifted with the qualities of compassion for the poor and a soft heart even for the distant relatives.
They are blessed with a son and a daughter. The son Shri Ashok Kumar Jain, born at Bijnor on 26th October, 1944, has been married to Smt. Vina Jain on 31-1-1971. His father-in-law Shri Jagdish Chandra Agarwal, a leading small scale industrialist of Kasganj (U. P.) is a partner in a big aluminium processing factory—Bharat Metal Works and is also associated with other trades. Shri Ashok Kumar did his diploma in Electrical Engineering in first division from Roorkee in 1968. Preferring independent business than service, he is owner of a big Kiln. At a omparatively younger age he has acquired an appreciable business knack and is well off in his trade. Highly social he has a large circle of friends. Handsome, soft spoken and possessing an affectionate heart Shri Ashok Kumar has simple habits.
The daughter Sarita Jain, B A., has been married in a respectable and rich family of Dehradun to Shri Pramod Kumar Jain, M. Sc., B.E., M.S. (USA) (Mechanical Engineering). She was in U.S.A. for two years with her husband and both of them have widely travelled in U.S.A. and the Europeon countries.
