Shri Amir Chand Rakyan

Shri Rakyan son of late Shri Pyare Lai Rakyan is a well-known veteran social worker. He came to Delhi from Amritsar about 52 years ago and started gota business in Chandni Chowk in the name of M/s. Pyare Lai Moti Lai in 1924. The present firm M/s. Pyare Lai Amir Chand was established in Fatehpuri in 1930.

He is President of Gota Zari Association, Chandni Chowk since its establishment in 1940 and of Mahavir Jain Aushdhalaya, Maliwara for the last 20 years. He has been President of Khartargachha Sangh for many years, is Manager of Choti Dadabari (Masjid Moth) since 1965 and Treasurer of All India Khartargachha Sangh since 1971.

He was one of the supervisors of Shri Rishabh Dev Temple constructed in 1933 at Bari Dadabari (Mehrauli). As Sanghpati, he took a Sangh to Hastinapur in 1935. He is an important link in resolving differences among people of the society by personal negotiations. He was born at Amritsar in 1900. Married to Smt. Munni Devi Rakyan in 1918 he has two sons and four daughters.
