A prominent hosiery manufacturer of Delhi Shri Ghanshyam Dass Jain led a quiet and religious life from the early start of his career. Son of Sh. Bihari Lai Jain he was born at Multan (Pakistan). After closing school education in 1925 he started looking after the hosiery and consumer goods business at Multan.
More interested in manufacturing line he established there Indra Hosiery Mills in 1937. After partition in 1947 he migrated to Jaipur and set up there a hosiery factory with the same name. He settled at Delhi in 1958 by opening a branch factory there.
He extended full cooperation in the construction of Multan Digamber Jain Temple in Adarsh Nagar at Jaipur. He has left behind him his wife Smt. Bishan Devi Jain and two sons and two daughters. The enterprise and mature experience of Shri Jain coupled with the drive of his elder son Shri Indra Kumar, who looks after the vast business, paid good dividends in the nylon hosiery manufacturing trade.
The family owns Indra Hosiery Industries at Delhi and Jaipur and V.K. Indra Hosiery Industry and Indra Knitters at Delhi The family has a liberal mind for religious and social activities.
