Famed Hindi writer, commentator and educationist Shri K. M. Lodha son of late Shri Chandan Mai Lodha was born at Jodhpur (Rajasthan) on 24th Sept., 1921. He passed M.A. from Allahabad University in 1943 in 1st Div. with 2nd position in order of merit.
In teaching profession since 1945 he joined Calcutta University in 1948 as a part-time Lecturer, became whole-time Lecturer in 1953 and Head of the Hindi Department in 1960. He is Research Guide and Adjudicator for Ph. D. and D. Litt. in almost all principal Universities of India.
As an Expert he is on Selection Committees and Boards of various Government bodies, U.P. S.C-, C.S.I.R., Universities, etc. He has worked as Director of Rajasthan Hindi Grantha Academy. Shri Lodha has delivered University Grants Commission Lectures in various Universities.
He is President of Allahabad University Alumni Association Calcutta; Vice-President of Translators Society of India and Bhartiya Hindi Parishad; Member of Indian Languages Correspondence Course Committee of Education Ministry and is associated with numerous literary and socio-cultural organisations.
Field of Specialisation : Chayavad and Maithili Saran Gupta, modern literary criticism, psychological studies and socio-cultural background of modern Hindi literature.
Prepared comprehensive Report on authenticity and genuineness of medieval copper plates and grants letters from State rulers of Rajasthan; edited various Souvenirs and Hindi Sahitya Ka Vrihata Itihas-Upanyasa Khand-(Kashi Nagri Pracharni Sabha).
