(1910—October 1969)
A pioneer in setting up Flour and Gram Dal and Basin Mills at Delhi, of genial disposition, religious minded late Shri Sunder Lai Jain was born at Panipat in 1910. After having his early education there he settled at Delhi in 1930.
He started his career with service in a business house and later took up to his own government contracts and coal business in 1940. Bestowed with enterprise and business knack, he set up Rajdhani Flour Mills in 1958 which is a top Gram Dal and Basin Mill of Delhi with a grinding capacity of 50 to 60 tonnes per day.
The supplies cover Bombay, Calcutta, Northern India and various parts of the country. Earlier President of Delhi Coal Merchants Association he was later on President of Delhi Flour and Gram Dal Mills Association. An active Congress worker, Shri Jain was enthusiastically devoted to religious and social work. He expired prematurely in October, 1969.
He was blessed with four sons and four daughters. The eldest son Sh. J. K. Jain is Regional Manager in Dodsal Pvt. Ltd. at New Delhi, the second Sh. D.K. Jain, B.Sc., who had his training in mechanical engineering in Europe for 4 years and the third Sh. S.K. Jain, B.Sc. (Chemistry Honours) look after the Rajdhani Flour Mills. The fourth son Sh. Rakesh Jain is persuing the course of Chartered Accountancy.
Sobre, polite and soft spoken Sh. D.K. Jain is Secretary of Delhi Flour Gram Dal Mills Association. He is also Secretary of Indo-German Society, known as Tangent Group, the main objectives of which are to keep in touch with those who have been to Germany or intend to visit that and to arrange technical books, magazines and guidance to those who own their industries or are in service.
