A young jeweller with pleasing and courteous nature Shri Ashwani Kumar I. Durlabhji son of Shri Ishwarlal Durlabhji hails from Morvi (Gujarat). His self-made jeweller grand-father Shri Durlabhji Tribhuvan settled at Jaipur about 80 years back for better prospects in jewellery trade.
His firm Durlabhji Tribhuvan became a most leading jewellery concern not only of Jaipur but of the country which carried its business with the erstwhile princely States. A greatly religious minded person Shri Durlabhji Tribhuvan was President of the first Al! India Sthanakwasi Jain Conference held at Ajmer. He financially helped a large number of students in completing their studies and also the poor and the needy.
Shri Ishwarlal Durlabhji third son of Shri Durlabhji Tribhuvan joined the ancestral jewellery business. He later set up independently his firm Ishwarlal Durlabhji in his own name which became a prominent concern of Jaipur. Courageous and enterprising, generous hearted Shri Ishwarlal was the champion of emerald and diamond trade at Jaipur and had business dealings in various parts of the country.
On having bad health he had taken retirement from the business. He had one daughter and three sons namely Smt. Sushila Turakhia, married to Shri Bhailal Chaganlal of Indore, Shri Chandrakant Ishwarlal, married to Smt.
Ranjan, Shri Ashwani Kumar, married to Smt. Madhubala, daughter of late Shri Shantilal Hirachand Advocate of Dhoraji, Shri Sudhir Kumar, married to Smt. Jaishree, daughter of Shri Jayantibhai Sanghani, Advocate of Upleta.
Shri Ashwani Kumar born at Morvi on April 20, 1938 joined the jewellery business in 1959 after doing his B.Com. from Jaipur. He has set up his independent firms S.l. Durlabhji and A.I. Durlabhji dealing in precious stones particularly in emeralds.
Shri Sudhir Kumar, his younger brother, is his partner in the business. Both of them have travelled all over the world. Shri Ashwani Kumar was a delegate to a cultural tour to U. S. S. R , Poland, Ugoslavia, U. K., France, Italy, Switzerland, etc. in 1967. The tour was sponsored by Internationa! Cultural Exchange Organisation of Delhi to acquaint the foreigners with the Indian culture.
He is member of Junior Chamber (Jaipur) (International), Committee Member of Rajasthan Homoeopathic Association and is a Registered Homoeopathic Doctor. A Lion, Shri Sudhir Kumar has keen interest in public welfare activities. A liberal heart for the poor is by inheritance in the two brothers who live a happy joint family.
