A veteran religious and social worker of Paharganj Jain society of Delhi, Shri Amir Singh was born at Dharuhera in Distt. Gurgaon (Haryana) in 1904. After having done banking business there for some years he had shifted to Rewari around 1925 and did commission agency business for about 15 years. He settled at Delhi in 1939 and took up to wholesale butter oil business. After closing it he set up his Mahavir Atta Bhandar in 1969.
Socially active in Rewari, Shri Jain had organised a Kirtan Mandal there. He has been an active worker of Delhi branch of Bharat Jain Mahamandal and Committee Member of A.I. Mahavir Jayanti Committee. He is President of Shri Digamber Jain Prabandhak Committee of Paharganj Jain Temple.
He has four sons. The eldest, Shri Anoop Singh is in service in Army Head Quarters. The second, Shri Attar Sain is a Director of the Jain Cooperative Bank Ltd., Secretary of Shri Aggarwal Digamber Jain Panchayat Paharganj and Committee Member of Benevolent Fund for the Disabled Persons. The third, Shri Kailash Chand is serving in Western Mechanical Industries, Worli, Bombay and the fourth,
Shri Prem Chand is in the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Shri Surendra Kumar son of Shri Attar Sain Jain is a young and ambitious social worker of the area. He is Vice-President of Mahavir Mission (Regd.), Convenor of Shri Jain Yuwak Mandal Paharganj and Committee Member of Shri Dig. Jain Committee, Paharganj.
