“ Sahan kiya Upsarg Bahu, Kari vinist nij karam
Bando Jinwar Ko sada, Jo hai Sadhana Dharam”
I respectfully bow to Arihant Bhagvan who fought with his karmas (actions) and won over them. King Hari Sen thought seriously that life is like a bubble of water. It is like a cloud. As a bubble of water and a cloud disappear in no time, similarly the life of human being can vanish at any time.
Death is bound to come. He thought that before the death comes, one should give up all the worldly belongings. One should give up his relations with family and become a naked muni. He went to Shrut Sagar muni, bowed in his feet and took diksha from him.
He gave up all wordly possessions. He started keeping fast and meditation. He used to travel in forests, mountains, caves and villages. He used to sit on meditation on the bank of rivers and on mountains in winter season and in sun in hot season.
After his death, he was born in tenth heaven as Ridhidhari Deity and in no time he became young. He engaged himself in religious activities. He used to go to temple and perform puja with his full dedication. He studied the religious books.
He remained in heaven for sixteen sagars. He was taking food after sixteen thousand years. He was taking breath after eight months. Due to his wholesome karmas he enjoyed the heavenly facilities. There was a Pundrikani town in Pushkawati region.
It was ruled by king Sumitra and his queen was Suvrata. She was religious and pious lady. The deity was born to Suvrata and was named as Priya. He was loved by everybody. King Sumitra arranged a puja of Arihant Bhagwan on the birth of his son.
He celebrated his birthday with great pomp and show. He gave charity to the deserving persons.Gradually Priya grew up. He used to look like a god of heaven. He acquired education from a Jain teacher. He studied religious Granths and also studied political books.
He became a king and he was having a huge army. He won over several kings of Vidyadhars. Those kings offered their daughters to him. He became a Chakravarti and returned back to his city with Vidyadhars and Vianter gods.
He I married with ninety six thousand queens of Vidyadhars and other kings. Thirty two thousand kings were ruling under him. Eighteen thousand Malach kings were worshipping him. He was having fourteen Rattans. These rattans were looked after by god.
He was the lord of nine infinitely precious treasures. All the consumable articles were available to him. Being a Chakeravarti ninety six crore villagers were under his rule. He was religious and popular king among the people.
He built up many beautiful temples and placed the idols of Tirthankaras which were made up of gold and jewels. He used to give food with great respect, great zeal and enthusiasm. He used to go to religious places and worship there.
Once this Chakeravarti king, along with his family, went to Kshemenker muni. He bowed in his feet and worshipped him. The muni was Kevaljanani and he was having infinite knowledge. The king sat there where other gents were sitting.
Kevaljanani muni preached the king. He said, Life is a bubble of water. It can come to an end at any time. Hence before dying one should give up all his worldly belongings and make efforts for Moksha.
The Moksha can save a person from the circle of death and rebirth. One should adopt:
1. Right faith | (Samag Darshana) |
2. SamagJnana | (Right Knowledge) |
3. Samag Chariter | (Right Conduct) |
One should be careful while lifting and keeping any thing. One should be careful while speaking.
One should be careful abut eating. One should take care while walking so that any living beings may not get injured or died. One should be firm & determined and know that he is born alone and will die alone.
Hence one should detatch himself from the family. The body and soul are altogether different. The body is mortal and the soul is immortal. When one dies the soul is transferred to another body. From inside, the body is full of bad smell due to solid and liquid wastes. Even nobody likes to see it.
Hence one should not go on the outer beauty of male or female. We must think that the worldly possessions such as son, daughter, mother, father, palace, home, car, wealth, husband, wife etc will bring us momentary peace but they can never provide us eternal peace. Such as If you stand before a mirror, you will find your face in the mirror.
The moment you remove yourself from the mirror, your face will automatically be removed from the mirror. As your face does not exist in the mirror, simply it appears therein. Similarly all the worldly possessions can not provide peace and happiness.
We are misguided and try to search peace therein. Suppose an electric fan is moving, circle appears in the fan. Actually there is no circle in the fan. There are only three or four blades. Suppose a tray is lying filled with water and shadow of moon is falling in the tray.
A small boy of about two years tries to catch the moon. Can he catch the moon in the tray? No, because moon is not in the tray. Simply it appears therein. The happiness does not exist in the worldly goods or living beings.
Hence we should think over deeply and peacefully and give up the worldly possessions and adopt the path of Moksha after becoming a naked muni. When the body is not our own , it is different from our soul, how other things can be our”.
The Kevalajnani further preached that we should adopt Das Lakshan Dharm in letter and spirit. We must think over ‘Bara Bhavna’ and Solah Karam. These will help us to achieve our goal of Moksha. In this way we can save ourselves from the circle of birth & death and we can achieve eternal peace.
The preachings of the muni affected the king, Priyamiter. He handed over the kingdom to his son and took diksha and became a naked muni. Thousands of other kings followed him and they took diksha and became naked munis.
He tried his best to control his attraction towards good and bad matter; the sorrows are never ever lasting; body is mortal. He started meditation in forests, mountains and in caves and travelled various villages and towns and preached others so that they might also follow right path.
When he observed that his death was near, he completely gave up taking food & drinking water and died. Thereafter, he was reborn as Suriya Prabh deity in the twelth heaven and in no time he became young. From his avadhi jnana he saw his prebirth incidents.
Now he adopted religion. He worshipped the idols of Jina in Jain temples built up by deity. He went to worship Tirthankaras and munis in Nandishwardeep and came back to his place. He was taking food after eighteen thousand years and he was taking breath after nine months.
He enjoyed his life for eighteen sagars. There was a Chhatrakar town in Bharat region. It was ruled by king Nandvardhan and his queen was Virvati and he was born to them and was named as Nand. He was having a charming personality and was loved by all.
When he grew up, he acquired knowledge of using weapons and religious books. He got fame and reputation like god. His father declared him king. He was very religious and used to keep fasts. He used to give food to the munis with good regards.
He used to go to temples at various places and performed puja whole heartedly. Because of his firm faith in religion, he was enjoying all worldly facilities. He followed dharma from the core of the heart and inspired others to adopt dharma in their lives. He was kind hearted and there was every kind of prosperity in his kingdom.
